Northern Center for Planning and Investigation of Marine resources - environment (CPIM) is a public administrative unit under the Vietnam Administration of Seas and Islands (VASI), Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment (MONRE), responsible for conducting activities of marine natural resources and environment survey.

CPIM has the main objective to perform the basic research and survey of fundamental natural resource and environment survey of in seas and islands of Viet Nam which include non-living and bio-origin resources, marine environment, natural hazards, controlled and dominant elements of marine resources and environment in seas and islands of Viet Nam and adjacent international waters in order to serve the state general and unified management about seas and islands of Vietnam Administration Of Seas And Islands and also contribute to the development of maritime economy “to expand into the sea and to master the Vietnamese waters”.
